Our teachers

YELENA GIRICH originally comes from Ukraine. She graduated from Simferopol State University with Master’s Degree in English Language and Literature.

Yelena has more than 15 years of experience teaching Russian and English as a second language to students of different ages in Ukraine and the United States.

She believes that the key to success in teaching a foreign language is to create a natural language atmosphere and to combine various activities to make the process of learning easy and interesting.

Yelena is also a professional translator / interpreter. Over the years she has worked with the groups of American business people traveling to Russian and Ukraine as a tour coordinator and translator.

Yelena is a member of Portland Pearl Rotary club where she serves as a Chair of the Vocational committee.

Periodically the school invites bilingual native speakers who share their personal and professional experience and valuable knowledge of English language.
